In their English 20 class, TCHS grade 11 students have been engaging in a pen pal program with senior citizens in the area. The Warner adult literacy initiative has paired students with seniors for the purposes of getting to know and learn from each other, develop an appreciation with someone in a different age cohort and just to engage in relationship building.
The Grade 11 students have really taken to this activity, eagerly read the letters they are sent as well as enthusiastically engage in writing their pen pal. In total the students will exchange 6 letters....and maybe a meeting at the end!
