English, Social Studies & Art

Hello! My name is Kelsi Gilbert, and I am beyond thrilled to be joining TCHS this year. I am so excited to be working with such an amazing community of people!
I grew up in Calgary but have been a proud resident of Lethbridge for the past eight years. I graduated from the University of Lethbridge first in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in General Social Sciences and again in 2022 with my Bachelor of Education (majoring in Indigenous Education and minoring in Social Studies). This past academic year, I began my teaching career at Wilson Middle School, where I taught Grade 7 Language Arts and Social Studies, and was an assistant coach for the Senior Boys Basketball team.
Some fast facts about me...- I love sports! I played basketball for almost 11 years, and got to go on a playing tour in England right after graduating high school.
- I love the outdoors! Hiking, cross-country skiing, and horseback riding are some of my favourite things to do outside.
- I love to read! Some of my favourite books include "The Mark of the Lion" series by Francine Rivers, and "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett.
- I love travelling throughout Canada! I have spent a lot of time in various parts of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and B.C. Next on my list is a return visit to Montreal and Quebec, as well as first-time visits to Tofino, BC and Newfoundland.

Taber Christian High School is an incredible community, and becoming a part of it has been an answer to prayer in more ways than one. I am so looking forward to seeing how God moves this year, and being able to learn and grow alongside our remarkable kids.
